External Oblique Distal Attachment
Abdominal aponeurosis to linea alba, pubic tubercle, and anterior half of the iliac crest
External Oblique Innervation
Intercostal nerves T7-T12, iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal nerves
External Oblique Action
Unilaterally: Laterally flexes the vertebral column Rotates the vertebral column to the opposite side Bilaterally: Flexes the vertebral column
Internal Oblique Proximal Attachment
Thoracolumbar fascia, iliac crest, and inguinal ligament
Internal Oblique Distal Attachment
Lower 3 or 4 ribs, abdominal aponeurosis to linea alba, and pubic crest
Internal Oblique Innervation
Intercostal nerves T7-T12, iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal nerves
Internal Oblique Action
