Peroneus Longus
O: head and lateral surface of fibula
I: base of first metatarsal bone and medial cuneiform
A: eversion of foot; weak plantarflexion; supports transverse and medial/lateral longitudinal arches
N: superficial fibular (peroneal n.) (L5, S1, S2)
Peroneus Brevis
O: lateral surface of fibula; inferior 2/3
I: dorsal tuberosity on lat. side of base of fifth metatarsal
A: eversion of foot; weakly plantarflexes
N: superficial fibular nerve (L5, S1, S2)
Tibialis Anterior
O: lateral condyle and superior 1/2 of lateral tibia
I: med. and inf. surfaces of medial cuneiform and 1st metatarsal
A: dorsiflexion; inverts foot; supports med. longitudinal arch
N: deep fibular n. (L4, L5)
Extensor Digitorum Longus
O: lat. condyle of tibia, ant surface of fibula, interosseous membrane
I: middle and distal phalanges of lateral 4 digits
A: Extension of lateral 4 digits and dorsiflexion of foot
N: Deep fibular n. (L4, L5)
Extensor Hallucis Longus
O: middle ant. surface of fibular and interosseous membrane
I: dorsal part of base of the distal phalanx of hallux
A: extends hallux and dorsiflexes foot
N: deep fibular n. (L4, L5)
Peroneus Tertius
O: inf ant surface of fibula and interosseous membrane
I: dorsum of base of 5th metatarsal
A: dorsiflexes foot and helps evert
N: deep fibular n. (L4, L5)
