What does the driver of a Disabled train do if Disabled in the MURL?
Contact AC
Perform relevant cab unattended procedure
Perform fault finding procedure
Return to train
Fill out DRA
Dictate to AC
Take DRA, Red Flag, Radio to rear or advance next fixed Signal
Contact AC when ready
When assisting train from the rear in MURL what does driver need before proceeding?
TA
Then a proceed aspect
In MURL when assisting from the rear what speed do you do?
Proceed as per signal aspects to POP
Get verbal permission to pass last fixed signal at STOP

In the MURL when assisting a disabled train from advance what do you need before you can move?
TA with every signal, except the last signal, that you will pass listed on it. The last signal you will contact AC for verbal permission to pass.
Can you make changes to a TA in the MURL?
Yes. But only to add signal numbers that may not be listed already. Contact AC to ask permission to add signal numbers.
In the MURL when assisting a disabled train from advance what speed will you do?
15km the whole way
Raise Trip
Run on Secondary Safety System
Stop at each signal to check off signal No. on TA.
In the MURL when ‘returning to the rear’ after coupling with disabled train, or when line is obstructed what speed will you do?
Proceed at 15kmh with trip raised, running on Secondary Safety Systems, stopping at every signal to check off on TA until you reach exit/protecting signal at tunnel exit. Then contact AC and they will change to proceed aspect
In MURL when assisting from the rear and already inside the loop/block section, and pushing in original direction do you need a TA?
No
If you are travelling on a TA and you become disabled what happens?
The TA is cancelled and another issued to the next rescuing train.
Same in MURL, ABS and ATC
If you are disabled in the MURL with no comms what do you do?
Stay in the train.
The MURL only has Home signals so other drivers can’t authorise themselves to pass
If you Derail in the MURL what do you ?
Act under instructions of AC
After moving combined trains in the MURL, when does the TA get cancelled and how?
When they arrive at the exit signal, call AC, driver cancels TA.
When in the MURL and clearing the section (pushing or pulling disabled train) how many Motor Cars can operate?
A maximum of 8 (2 trains)
If there are more than 5 the combined trains must not be powered beyond series on a Comeng, or a low power notch on Siemens or XTrap
What is the authority to pass Home signal in the MURL that is protecting points or entry/exit?
