Multistream Approach to the Four-Step Control Process Flashcards

1
Q

Step 1: Establish key performance standards

A

Drawback of a value chain: often linear or sequential, inputs and outputs are often unconnected.

Value loop: organizational inputs converted into outputs that are linked to future outputs; connected inputs and outputs

Advantages of value loop: consider environmental processes (source of inputs and products of outputs)
- resources goes both ways (inputs-output; output-input)
- performance standards in inputs, conversion and outputs can be established

Step 3: Evaluate Performance

A
  • Relational, qualitative measures of human, intellectual, social and spiritual capital
  • Multistream TQM: larger systemic feedback loops, variety of competing goals as performance criteria, involvement of stakeholders in performance evaluation

Step 4: Respond accordingly

A
  • Seek help from others to resolve inadequate performance
