Multiple Baseline & Changing Criterion Designs Flashcards
Multiple baseline design
flexible tactics that enables researchers to analyze the effects of an independent variable across multiple BXs, settings, and/or subjects without withdrawing the treatment variable to verify that the improvements in BX were a result of treatment
Multiple baseline across BX designs
concurrent measurement of 2 or more bXs of a singe participant. After steady baseline, apply treatment to one BX while maintaining baseline for the other BX(s).
Multiple baseline across setting design
a singe BX of a person or group is targeted in 2 or more different settings or conditions
-when maximum BX change has been achieved, more to next condition
Multiple baseline across subjects design
one target BX is selected for 2 or more subjects (or groups) in the same setting
Multiple probe design
a method for analyzing the relation between the independent variable and the acquisition of a successive approximation or task sequence.
delayed multiple baseline design
initial baseline and intervention are begun, and subsequent baselines are added in a staggered or delayed fashion
changing criterion design
initial baseline observations on a single target BX. Baseline phase is followed by implementation of a treatment program in each of a series of treatment phases. Each treatment phase is associated with a step-wise change in criterion rate for the target BX.
Multielement design
refer to alternating treatment design
concurrent schedules design Simultaneous treatment design
