Q

Stages of Mitosis

A
  1. before mitosis chromosomes are long, thin and invisible
  2. chromosomes replicate to produce two ientical chromatids attached at the centromere
  3. chromatids line up along the equator of the cell. spindle fibres attach at the centromere
  4. spindle fibres shorten pulling the chromatids apart to opposite poles of the cell
  5. nuclear membranes form around chromosomes and become invisible again
  6. cytoplasm divides making two new daughter cells
