the cell becomes flaccid and
cytoplasm will shrink away from cell wall = plasmolysed
why does cell in either plant or animal cell shrink/expand?
this is because vacuole stores food and water, thus the changes happened

as there is no net movement of water molecules as there is no difference in water potential inside and outside cell.
