the kazan action play fosters sport polcy development and it’s 3 main policy areas include access to all, contribution to sustainable development goals and integrity
what is health literacy and what does it involve knowing about?
health literacy is the cognitive ability to understand and interpret the meaning of health information, impacts people’s ability to embrace or disregard actions relating to health, it implies the level of knowledge, personal skills, and confidence to take action to improve personal and community health.
it involves knowing about bodily function, how to find information.
what are the levels of the model of health literacy?
there are 3 levels
lvl 1: functional health literacy
lvl 2: interactive health literacy
lvl 3: critical health literacy
what is level 1 of the health literacy?
level 1: functional health literacy - ability to understand health related information and use basic skills in reading and writing
what is level 2 of the health literacy?
level 2: interactive health literacy - personal communication and social skills used to extract and derive info and act independently on that knowledge
what is level 3 of the health literacy?
level 3 - critical health literacy - individuals critically analysing health-related info in order to exert control over life vents
what do the levels of health literacy say about having health literacy?
the levels reveal that even though there are knowledge to health literacy, but the knowledge is not closely related with health outcomes
what is physical literacy?
physical literacy is the ability to move with confidence and competence using all the physical assets one has at any given time.
what are the physical, affective, cognitive and social domains of learning??
physical - physical competence, health and skill related fitness
social - leadership, working with peers, communication
cognitive - awareness of rules and tacts, incorporating feedback
affective - motivation confidence, self-esteem.
what does the ELYF do?
it is the early years learning framework that guides early childhood educators in developing quality, early childhood education programmes
what is the big vision of ELYF?
that ‘all children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life’
what is the overarching vision of ELYF?
- belonging, being and becoming principles
e. g. making secure, respectful and reciporcal relationships, respect for diversity
how is the overarching vision of ELYF put into place?
- through play, intentional teaching, learning environments, cultural competence, continuity of learning and transitions, assessment for learning
what is belonging in the overarching vision of ELYF?
belongingness is knowing where and with whom you belong with and relationships are a crucial aspect to gaining a sense of belonging and are developed and nurtured when children interact with one another. through - interpersonal relationships - respect - acceptance of others - interaction with others - appreciating the individuality of self and others - looking at own and different cultures
what is being in the overarching vision of ELYF?
focusing on each child’s present state, identifying who they are and engaging in life’s complications. e.g. using their imagination to jump around on logs pretending there are crocodiles underneath and this can also develop gross motor skills etc.
what is becoming in the overarching vision of ELYF?
all about a child growing up and moving through each stage of their early childhood right through to preparing for school.
and children grow up by being an active participant in society
e,g through school garden, cooking as a class, writing letters
what are some examples of children having a strong sense of wellbeing?
- children take increasing responsibility for their own health and physical wellbeing
e.g. recognise and communicating their bodily needs,
combine gross and fine motor movement and balance to achieve increasingly complex patterns of activity including dance, creative movement and drama
- demonstrate sptial awareness and orient themselves
- manipulate equipment
- increase independence and competence in personal hygiene
