what are some common stereotypes/ attributions to self and others about body image in western countries?

A

in western countries there are some general characteristics attributed to people who are perceived as thin or fat. thin people are generally perceived as having more positive personality characteristics and are seen as being more in control than people perceived as fat.

this can affect kids as we eventually attribute these characteristics t ourself e.g. expect to be accepted or rjected socially based on weight status
