- The duration of the maltreatment
- History of maltreatment
- Reasons concerning the maltreatment
- Unique aspects of the maltreatment such as whether weapons were used
- What are the parent or caregiver attitudes, feelings, thoughts and believes about the maltreatment
Describe what Child Functioning includes
- How does the child function on a daily basis
- Assess developmental stage and what would and wouldn’t be considered typical child functioning
- Gather information about the child’s general behavior, emotions, temperament and physical capacity

- How does the adult function on a daily basis
- Focuses on cognitive, emotional and behavioral practices

Describe what parenting in general includes

Describe what parent discipline includes
- What are the disciplinary approaches used by the parent or legal guardians and under what circumstances
- Not only in a punishment context but also providing direction, managing behavior, teaching and directing a child
