What is maltreatment?
The harm that occurs as a result of harmful parenting behavior
What is danger threat?
Are the behaviors/emotions dangerous to the child

What is abandonment?
Willful act of not having a relationship or maintaining support
What is the most common maltreatment?
Neglect
What are the 3 types of reports received?
In home reports
Institutional reports (schools, daycares, etc)
Special conditions
What are special conditions reports?
No maltreatment but special such as:
- Caregiver unavailable (incarceration)
- Parent needs assistance
- Child on child sexual abuse
- Foster care referral
What is threatened harm?
A behavior that is not accidental and which is likely to result in harm to the child
Examples of threatened harm?
The preventable death of a child provides reason to suspect that another child is at risk
What are the two types of human trafficking?
Labor trafficking and sex trafficking
What is labor trafficking?
There is a process + a way or means + a goal
Example: bringing ppl from other countries to work for no wages
What is sex trafficking
When there’s a process and a goal
Example recruitment of minors for prostitution

- Renegade/Survival Sex
- Pimp Trafficking
- Familial Trafficking
- Gang Trafficking
