Module 11 ML-3 Flashcards
What happens when there is a mucus plug in the bronchioles?
o2 is blowed from reaching the alveoli so one pulmonary artery constricts and diverts the blood to a different location so gas exchange can occur
What happens when there is a blood clot in the pulmonary arteriole?
the bronchiole vasoconstricts so air is sent in a different healthy location in the lung
Ventilation perfusion inequality is resposible for what?
the drop in po2 from alveoli to pulmonary venous blood
what is the effect of gravity on blood in our upright posture at rest?
at the top of the lung their is decreased perfusionr ate so po2 is less than 105
-bottom of th lung there is increased perufsion so P02=105 so when the blood reaches the pulomonary vein it equals 100
