Module 10 ML-1 Flashcards
MAP
the force that drives flow through the vasculature
Map is high enough to drive blood through tissues but low enough to
minimize work of the heart and prevent vessel reupture
Male avergae pulse pressure
93 120/80
Female average pulse pressure `
83 110/70
Where do baroreceptors monitor
carotid sinus bareoreceptor and the aoritic arch baroreceptor
Where are afferent signals sent to
9th and 10th cranial nerves
Less stretch of a baroreceptor =
less frequency of AP
In sympathetic what are the two control centers
Vasomotor and cardioexcitatory
In para what is the control center
cardioinhibitory
At intermediate “rest” what is on and off
VM= 1/2 off IPSP
CE= off IPSP
CI= 1/2 on EPSP
If MAP increases then
decrease of symp and increase of para
If map decreases then
increase of symp and decrease of para
