Q

Glulam

A
  • several pieces of timber glued together
  • strong, composite components used in buildings bridges and other structures
  • careful laminating allows the natural defects in timber to be almost eliminated
  • better strength to weight ratio than steel
  • can be shaped easily with low energy
  • sustainable
  • cross laminated timber (CLT), sheet based, strength in both directions, can be used for more imaginative designs
