1974 health and safety at work act
Employers are legally required to do all that is reasonably practicable to ensure health, safety and welfare at work of employees, and the health and safety of non-employees. eg students and visitors to a school.
Personal Protective Equipment at work regulations 1992
states that employers have basic duties concerning the provisions and use of PPE at work.
what does PPE stand for
personal protective equipment
PPE
defined in the regulations as ‘all equipment’ (including clothing providing protection against weather) which is intended to be worn or held by a person at work and which protects him against one or more risks to his health and safety.
