First line treatment options for alcohol use disorder (after psychosocial intervention):
naltrexone (mu opioid R antagonist) and Acamprosate (glutamate modulator). Naltrexone can be started in Pt who are still drinking, but is contraindicated in Pt taking opioids because it could precipitate withdrawal.
Rx for Lyme disease in children:
PO amoxicillin or cefuroxime for kids < 8yo. No doxy for kids.
Which should be done first, LP or CT in case of hydrocephalus in a child?
CT.
What techniques can reduce radial head subluxation?
hyperpronate the forearm while applying pressure on the radial head. Can also do forearm supination with elbow flexion.
Wernicke’s encephalopathy. Give thiamine or glucose first?
thiamine before glucose

Wiskott Aldrich. XLR defect in WAS protein. Impaired cytoskeletal change in leukocytes

Rx for invasive aspergilloma:
voriconazole +/- caspofungin
Rx for group a strep infection in kids:
amoxicillin or penicillin (can give macrolide i.e. azithromycin for pen allergic).
** Remember need to do rapid strep test in kids. CENTOR criteria is unreliable in kids compared to adults.
Rx for vasospastic angina:
diltiazem (CCB for preventive therapy) and sublingual nitro for abortive therapy
