the Buddha refused instead believing in using the dharma to make people believe in him
Budda made it an offence in the Pati-Mokka for monks and nuns who posses miraculous powers to use them
Buddha did not deny that miricals do occur however he did not believe that they served a purpose in leading people towaed Nirvana

miricals are unessessary if not delusional
