The Buddha identified sexual craving as tanha or one of the cuases of Duakka (sufferining). Since the main aim of Buddhisum enerally is to overcome Dukkha then overcoming sexual craving would be important for enlightenment

If one commits a sexually promisucous act within the sangha then the Pali cannon says that they should be punished and expelled from the sangha

Marriage is typically in Buddhist contries a non-religious act more of a civil bonding between the two people
However lay people will recieve blessings from Buddhist monastics around the wedding

The Buddha did not approve of the ordination of homosexuals and if a monk or nun was found to be engaging in homosexual activity then they were to be derobed .

The thrid precept states to refrain from ‘sexual misconduct’ and some believ homosexuality goes against this conduct
why do some thravdan Buddhists disagre with the assersion that homosexuality goes against the third precept
as homosexuality is not intrisically wrong and the sexual misconduct in the third precept is refering more so to acts of rape or sexual assalt - where as simply being homosexual isnt causing ham
