What was the Buddha’s views upon the ordination of women
The Buddha was originally opposed to the concept of women being ordained however he later changed his mind allowing for the oridination of women starting with his wife and step-mother.
-This was radical at the time and was critised

-Some parts of the Pali cannon indicate that women are of alesser karmic rebirth to men

In early Theravada tradition the ordination of women was aloud and flourished - however this tradition died out due to war, famine and wide spread general suppresion of women
