Nephrotic syndrome

What is nephrotic syndrome?
A
> 3.5g/day proteinuria
Hypoalbuminaemia - oedema
Hyperlipidaemia - lipiduria

What is different about the proteinuria in minimal change
A
Selectively only albumin

What tests?
A
Minimal change disease
- No difference on any renal biopsy levels
Just monitor and treat

What is the treatment?
A
Prednisolone
Other immunosuppression
- Cyclophosphamide
- Cyclosporin
- Tacrolimus
- Rituximab
