-Piedmont-sardina was defeated which allows access to Italy and weakens Austria
-Allows for plunder to pay his soldiers which will boost their morale

-The attack on Ceva sae greater French than Piedmontese losses - 600 to 150
-fortunate as Piedmont also sought separated peace (from Austria) which they had been contemplating before hand

A

-Defeated the Austrians and allowed him to enter Milan which was very rich and the plundered art treasures
-Showed NB’s tactical genius as he employed “tactical envelopment”
