What does “Jesus” mean?

To proclaim and make present the reign of God
What were Jesus’ roles?
Priest- one who represents the people in offering sacrifice to God
Prophet- one who hears God’s Word and proclaims is
King- one who has power and authority

~ Message (and all the other Gospels also) - Jesus is the Son of God who saved us
~ Present mystery of Jesus’ coming- incarnation (God becoming human) through miraculous events
~ Mini-Gospels- same Good News as all Gospels

What are the infancy narratives?
Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, Presentation, The Finding in the Temple
What are some of the reasons why Jesus’ baptism is found in all four of the Gospels?
~ it shows an epiphany: the Trinity is revealed
~ Jesus sets a good example for us
