Name and describe the two types of microscopes

A

Light - use light and lenses to form an image of a specimen and magnify if - make individual cells and subcellular cells visable
Electron - use electrons - higher magnification - higher resolution - mitochondria, chloroplasts, ribosomes and plasmids

A
  • add a drop of water to the middle of the slide
  • using tweezers place the thing your studying onto the water
  • add a drop of iodine solution
  • place a cover strip onto the slide without getting any air bubbles
