uncontrolled cell growth and division

what is a benign tumour
A
tumor grows until there is no more room
tumour stays in one place
isn’t normally dangerous or cancerous

what is a malignant tumour
A
grows and spreads to neighbouring tissues
cells break off and travel through the bloodstream
invade healthy tissues making them secondary tumours
dangerous and can be fatal - they are ancers
