What is a stage micrometer?

A

A microscope slide that is engraved with an accurate scale to give reference to dimensions (DOES CHANGE). It is 100 nanometers long

What is an eyepiece graticule?

A

A glass disc fitted into the eyepiece of the microscope which is marked with a fine scale of 0-100 (DOESN’T CHANGE)

What is calibration?

A

The comparison of the stage micrometer to the eyepiece graticule. This is done by counting how many unmarked units of the eyepiece graticule fit into the stage micrometer then divide to get how many nanometers each line of the eyepiece graticule is worth
