mesoderm subtypes\ Flashcards
what subtypes does mesoderm specialize into from medial to lateral (bilateral)?
somites, intermediate mesoderm (IM) and lateral plate mesoderm (LPM)
somites
become vertebrae and muscle, also paraxial mesoderm
intermediate mesoderm
kidney and reproductive system
lateral plate mesoderm
membrane linings of thorax and abdomen.
solomic
membranes cover membranes
sclerotomes
vertebrae around central neural tube
what forms into sclerotomes
somites
what two types of tissues do somites form?
sclerotomes around neural tube and dermomyotomes
dermomyotomes
form back and perpheral body muscles (not limbs) and of dermis of the body
derma is
dermis and myotomes = muscles
dermamyotome splits into
dorsolateral dermatome and a myotome
dermatome cells do what?
migrate to the surface ectodferm of the corrresponding segmental region, where they work with LPM to form dermis
myotome does what?
splits first into a dorsal epimere and ventral hypomere
epimere
forms deep muscles of back
hypomere
splits into three layers in thoracic region. three layers of anterolateral muscles. in adbominal region, a forth ventral segment also differentiates and forms rectus abdominis muscle.
