Characterised by excessive pressure and progressive diation of endolymphatic system
Middle aged adults

Clinical Features
A
Severe disabling VERTIGO Tinnitus Hearing loss Aural fullness (ear pressure) N+V
Romberg Test +ve
Nystagmus

Investigations
A
Audiogram with persistent attacks showing low frequency hearing loss

Management
A
-ENT assessment is required to confirm the diagnosis
MEDICAL
Acute = Prochlorperazine (buccal/intramuscular)
Prevention = betahistine (vasodilator), intratympanic steroids
SURGICAL
- Ventilation tbe insertion
- Vetibular nerve section
- Labyrinthectomy
- Endolamphatic sac decompression
