Mind mapping helps us to revise and remember materials because they are supposed to reflect the way that memory is organised.

A
They work on the assumption that the info is inaccessible but can be retrieved. Cues trigger the access to the lost info through any sense, eg smell of play dough reminds you of a event In your childhood. Or when we retrace our footsteps to find something. Or can be used in education, police investigations. Could be a rhyme.

Explain the use of imagery?
A
If you have to learn written material it is found relating it to an image will help. It gives it more meaning and doubles your chances of remembering it.
