Complications

A
  1. CNS depression, sedation, light-headedness, ataxia,
  2. Anterograde amnesia- difficulty recalling events that occur after dosing.
  3. Oral Toxicity- drowsiness, lethargy, confusion
  4. IV toxicity- RR depresion, severe hypo tension, cardiac arrest

  1. Pregnancy category D
  2. Schedule IV
  3. Contraindicated in sleep apnea, RR depression, or glaucoma
  4. use cautiously in liver disease
  5. generally short term due to dependence.
