What is the dose of dexamethasone for Croup?
1 month - 2 years 150mcg/kg as a single dose
What two other drugs can be administered alongside adrenaline for anaphylaxis?
Why are they given?
Chlorphenamine malaete injection by IM or IV injection may help to counter histamine-mediated vasodilation and bronchoconstriction.
Hydrocortisone (sodium succinate) by IV injection has delayed action but should be given to severly affected patients to prevent further deterioration.
How much glucose/sucrose should be given in suspected diabetic hypoglycaemia?
~10-20g:
110-220ml lucozade energy original.
100-200ml Coca-Cola,
2-4 teaspoons of sugar
3-6 sugar lumps
Repeated after 10-15 mins if needed
