Press barons were open in the 20th century about their propagandist role and that there had been a lot more conservative supporting newspapers which reflects them serving the interests of their wealthy owners. Now owners are more interventionist with Rupert murdoch. Politicians believe media moguls have control over the media. Tony Blair and David Cameron both met with Rupert murdoch to gain support of the sun.

Abuses of power and influences by elites need to be monitored by free media . Too much conc of media ownership is dangerous and unhealthy as media has power to make or break political careers and influence over public opinion
