Meissner Corpuscle = Dynamic deformation Pacinian corpuscle = Vibration Ruffini corpuscle = stretch Merkel cell complex = indentation depth C - fibres = touch Adelta = noxious stimuli

Describe the locaiton of the mechanoceptors
A
Ruffini corpuscle and the Pacinian corpuscles are deep in dermis
Meissner Corpuscle and Merkel cell complex in the upper layer of dermis
C - fibres and Adelta fibres in the epidermis

Describe the adaption rate of mechanoceptors
A
The Ruffini corpuscle and the merkel cell comples are slowly adapting as are the c-fibres and the Adelta fibres. The Pacinian and the meissner corpuscles are rapidly adapting

Describe the receptor Fields of the Mechanoceptors
A
The Deep receptors, Pacinain and Ruffini have large receptor fields whereas the meissner and merkels have small fields as do the C-fibres and the Adelta fibres
