Q

What is Lactate Sampling?

A

Gradually increasing intensity and measure lactate levels in blood each time.

Swim, cycle or run in a controlled environment.

Q

What is Indirect Calorimetry?

A

Hooked up to a lab machine.
Values are put into an equation by the machine to calculate ‘energy expenditure’ in kilojoules.

Q

What is the VO2 Max Test?

A

Treadmill speed or incline is increased every minute.
Gas mask measures O2 inhales and O2 exhales.
Can figure out how much O2 stayed in you and therefore has been kept and used by the muscles.
