Bugler moves to position, sounds “Attention” followed by “Officers Call” or “First Sergeants Call” at enlisted balls
H-hour
Drum and trumpet sound “Attention”
Drum and trumpet sound “Adjutants Call”
Immediately move into “French Foreign Legion”
Drum and trumpet movements after H-hour
Marches to far end of dance hall, countermarches in front of adjutant, marches back to entrance, countermarch, halt. If part of main band, just march off dance floor
When band plays Semper Fidelis?
Immediately after French Foreign Legion, adjutant positions behind cake, senior escort says “forward, march!” Continues to play while all escorts step off in pairs, followed by General Officers if present. When all are in position, band stops playing
When band stops Semper Fidelis
When all escorts are in position and at order sword, General Officers enter in pairs. When all are in position, band stops playing. Band then sounds attention
What happens on third sounding of “Attention”
Commanding General and Guest of Honor enter together; after an announcement, honors are rendered if appropriate
Cue for band to render honors
“Present, SWORD”
What happens on fourth sounding of “Attention?”
Color guard enters; after senior escort commands “Present, SWORD!” they present arms, band plays national anthem
What happens on fifth sounding of “Attention?”
Marines Hymn slow while cake escorts enter ballroom. Band ends when escorts are in place
When band plays Auld Lang Syne?
As Commanding General cuts the cake
When band plays Semper Fidelis for the second time?
March color guard, Commanding General and GOH, remaining General Officers, and escorts off the dance floor
When band plays Anchors Aweigh and Marines Hymn
After last pair of escorts clears the room
Drummers and trumpeters after Anchors Aweigh and Marines Hymn
Side step together, march length of dance floor, countermarch, march back out of entrance
