poor housing can affect a child’s achievement.

-Inadequete space,cannot do homework
-overcrowding,hard to concentrate
-poor housing,due to lack of resources to fix problem quickely
>can affect sleep

-schools provide study areas
-hw clubs
therefore out of school factors may not relevant.

Howard found that students from low income families have a low intake of vitamens and minerals.Poor nutrients can affect ones health along with acheivements.

-wilkinson found that students from poor families are more likely to face emotional/behavoural problems.

-Jesson +Grey,found that those that have free school meals corrallates to there GCSE grades.
-Bernsteign +Young found that MC mothers are more likely to buy educational toys to stimulate intellectual development.

-Tanner,says schooling is costly-as they need to buy resources which acts as a burden towards families.

Sociologist found that attitudes to higher education and cost differ.

-Calendar + Jackson,gave 2000 questionaires to prospective student and found that WC students are 5x less likely to apply to higher education due to not wanting to be in debt.
-Raey,found WC are more likely to go to local universities to save finances.
