Transfer of goods or money from brides family to the groom or the grooms family.

compensation given upon marriage by the family of the groom to the family of the bride.
Bride service
Men give labor to the brides family in exchange for a wife.
Reciprocal exchange
Involves the roughly equal exchange of gifts between the families of both the bride and the groom.
Levirate
if husband dies, his younger brother will marry the surviving widow.
Sororate
younger sister of a deceased wife will marry the surviving widower.
