What is a histogram

A

Similar to bar charts but there is one important difference
It is not the height of the bar that represents the value but the area of each bar
This is because Histograms measure frequencies from grouped data
The area of the histogram represents the frequency
Histograms are used for continuous data

A

These are used to present information when it is important to show the proportions of the total
Each section of the ‘pie’ shows how significant that part of the data is when compared with the total

A

These allow for easy comparison

The size of each section is determined by the angle at the centre of the circle

Value of one section x 360 degrees
Total value of all sections
