pituitary gland
explain the pituitary gland
The pituitary gland is a small gland located just below the brain. It produces follicle-stimulating hormone FSH luteinizing hormone LH and growth hormone.
what hormone do the testicles produce?
testosterone
what does FSH stimulate?
the production of sperm cells and LH acts on the testicles which begin to produce testosterone.
what is Spermatogenesis
Process where testicles make sperm cells. Cells make copy of themselves end create four immature spermatozoa through meiosis.
what is Spermatogenesis controlled by
FSH and LH
what does the LH trigger and what happens when the quantity of sperm is low?
LH triggers the testicleβs testosterone production. When the quantity of sperm is low, the pituitary gland makes more FSH. it triggers sperm to divide faster and the production increase.
