Question 1

Part 1 method

Answer 1

Measure 40cm3 sulfuric acid into a 100cm3 beaker
Heat with a Bunsen burner until almost boiling
Add copper oxide with a spatula to excess while stirring

Allow to cool

Filter over a conical flask using filter paper

Part 3 method

Add 2/3 of the solution to the evaporating basin
Evaporate using 250cm3 boiling water over a Bunsen burner
Stop at the first sign of crystals
Leave for at least 24 hours
