what is the first step
A
add insoluble copper oxide in excess to sulphuric acid and stir. warm gently on a tripod and gauze

A
the solution should blue as the reaction occurs showing that copper sulphate is being formed

A
when the reaction is complete filter the solution to remove excess copper oxide

A
evaporate the solution and when you see the first crystals begin to form stop heating and leave somewhere cool
