What is a Controlled Cyptographic Item(CCI)?
Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCI) is the designator which identifies secure
telecommunications or information handling equipment, or an associated cryptographic
component, which is unclassified but controlled within the CMCS.
Who can key CCi?
Only properly cleared and designated U.S. citizens are authorized to key CCI with a
classified U.S. key.
What is an SF-153?
-COMSEC material accounting reports provide an audit trail for all accountable COMSEC
material.
-It’s what you physically have in the vault.
-If its not one the SF-153 you are not required to have it.
What are the Local Element Responsibilities?
Primarily, LE personnel are to responsible to their Commanding Officer for the proper
management and security of all COMSEC material held by the command.
What is Classified Material Control Center (CMCC)?
By the very nature of the job of a communications officer, it is imperative that proper
classification of communication links, circuits, and physical materials is readily understood and
maintained.
