A
They control how much water, urea and ions are released. They do this by filtering these substances from your blood and retaining that which you need

A
A hormone produced in the pituitary gland that regulates volume of the urine you excrete

What is a nephron?
A
The functional unit of the kidneys where excess water, ions and urea are removed from the blood

What is the process of the kidneys?
A
- All glucose, urea, ions and water are removed from the blood (FILTRATION)
- All glucose, and some ions and water are selectivley reabsorbed back into the blood (SELECTIVE REABSORPTION)
- All urea, and excess ions and water are excreted in your urine (EXCRETION)
