What does a good biological drawing look like?
Ruler lines for labels that dont cross over, no shading, simple + proportional shapes, title, magnification
What is a bad biological drawing?
Drawings squashed up, wonky lines, shaded, drawings too detailed, lines overlap
What is magnification?
How much bigger a sample appears compared to its actual size. As mag increases, blurriness increases
How do u calculate total magnification?
Eyepiece lens x objective lens
What is image size?
What u measure on the paper
What is the magnification calculation?
image size / actual size
What does the scale bar represent?
Numbers on scale bar represent actual size, need to measure with ruler to get image size
What is microscope calibration?
It allows u to measure lengths of structures seen using microscope
What do u need to measure length under microscope?
Eyepiece graticule and stage micrometer
