EXPERIMENT on the circuler coil
A
- Throw iron filling on a card- board surrounding circular loop carrying an electric current
- Knock the corner of the card- board slightly.
- Observation
- The iron filling will arranged as
- the magnetic flux lines are no longer circular
- the magnetic flux density changes from point to another
- at the center of the coil the magnetic flux lines are uniform parallel to each other and to the axis of the coil
- at the center of the coil the magnetic flux lines are perpendicular to the coil,s plane
- it looks like a short magnet
