EXPERIMENT on the circuler coil

A
  1. Throw iron filling on a card- board surrounding circular loop carrying an electric current
  2. Knock the corner of the card- board slightly.
  3. Observation
  • The iron filling will arranged as
  1. the magnetic flux lines are no longer circular
  2. the magnetic flux density changes from point to another
  3. at the center of the coil the magnetic flux lines are uniform parallel to each other and to the axis of the coil
  4. at the center of the coil the magnetic flux lines are perpendicular to the coil,s plane
  5. it looks like a short magnet
