chapter three mutual induction Flashcards
diff mutual induction
it is the interactionbetween two coils kept close to each other when the electric current increases or decreases in the primary coil it causes varition in the magnetic flux linked with the turns of the secondary coil so E.M.F will be generated in the secondary coil
expermaent on mutual induction
- to demonstrate the mutual induction between two coil and verify lenz rule by using two coils
one of them connected to battery , key and rheostat ( primary coil ) while the other connected with a sensitive , middle zero galvanometer ( secondry coil )
procedures
- switch on the primary coil circuit
- switch of the primary coil circuit
- adjusit the rehostat to increases the current
- adjusit the rehostat to decreases the current
- plunge the primary coil into the secondary coil
- move the primary coil away from the secondery coil
NOTE ; both of opposing induced current or foward induced current resist the varition in magnetic flux producing them
how to form mutual induction once increase the varition and once decreases the varituion and will happen in each case
- switch on the primary coil circuit
- adjusit the rehostat to increases the current
- plunge the primary coil into the secondary coil
- opposing current will be induced momentarily in the secondary coil [in oppiste direction to the original current in primary coil] causes opposing induced magnetic filed resist the increases in the inducing filed
- switch of the primary coil circuit
- adjusit the rehostat to decreases the current
- move the primary coil away from the secondery coil
* forward current will be induced momentarily in the secondery coil [in the same direction of the original current in primary coil] causes foward induced magnetic filed resist the decrease in the inducing magnetic filed
proof the relation of mutual induction
Eind & Døm \ Dt
Døm \ Dt & DI \ Dt
Eind = DI \ Dt
Eind = constant DI \ Dt
Eind = –M x DI \ Dt
NOTE ; Eind ⇒ secondary coil
DI \ Dt ⇒ primary coil
the cofficient mutual induction between two coils OR the mutual inductance
sympol and relation and unit and diff
- M
- Eind \ Di \ Dt
- henry
- it is the E.M.F induced in the secondary coil when the current passing through the primary coil change by rate 1A \ 1sec
diff henary
it is the mutual inductance between two coils when E.M.F of 1 v is induced in the secondary coil when the current passing through primaty coil change at rate 1A\1sec
mutual inductance depends on
- the number of turns
- the distance between the two coils
- the magnetic permeability of its core
- the volume of the coil
the mutual induction verfy lenz law GR
both of opposing induced current or foward induced current resist the varition in magnetic flux producing them
- if the induced magnetic filed increases
- switch on the primary coil circuit
- adjusit the rehostat to increases the current
- plunge the primary coil into the secondary coil
- if the induced magnetic filed decreases
- switch of the primary coil circuit
- adjusit the rehostat to decreases the current
- move the primary coil away from the secondery coil
