How do you score items on TGMD?
Each item includes
- Skill name
- Equipment needed
- Directions for setting up the equipment & instructing the child
- Performance criteria (task analysis)
- Boxes for recording scores (0=absent, 1=present)
- Demonstrate to the child
- Child performs item x1 –> Score Trial 1
- Child performs item again x1 –> Score Trial 2
- Add up the item scores and subscale scores
When is TGMD used to test a child? When is it not suitable to test a child using TGMD?
Motor planning –> no chance to practice and improve
- Children with coordination and planning difficulty
Not suitable with CP
- Movement quality
- Best possible result
