A

Amy was first presented as a 13 year old girl who had a history of severe caloric restriction and a BMI of 11.8. She developed amenorrhea. She had body image distortions. Transferred to a psychiatric unit.
Dad’s primary language is Mandarin but can speak Cantonese and a little english. Mums primary language is Cantonese and can speak little english

She remained asymptomatic. Fewer critisms with with her mother. She maintained a BMI above 18.5 and had a menstrual bleeding. She was determined to find a part time job and did get one

A

Amy’s struggle with her mother. food refusal and developmental theories of anorexia as a product of a need for autonomy and control. In their interactions maternal nurturing and warmth were often lacking and Amy’s perception of her mother was one of her being overbearing and controlling
