Liver, muscle, Demarcation, Tuberculum Flashcards

1
Q
A

Pathologic simple fatty infiltration:

  • fat droplets or vacoules in the cytoplasm of hepatocytes
  • liver structure is maintained
  • nuclei of hepatocytes are intact
  • Granulocytes among the fat droplets

*Hypoxia due to anemia

Q
A

Pathologic necrobiotic fatty infiltration:

  • vacuoles increase in size and push nucleus to the sides of the cell
  • liver cells are enlarged w/ fat droplets in their cytoplasm (more fat/adipose than hepatocytes in parenchyma).
  • Nuclei is undergoing breakdown process= necrobioti degeneration

*Karyopyknosis, Karyorrhexis, Karyolysis= irreversible

-recognizable structure of liver

Q
A

Zenker muscle necrosis:

  • Macrophages(histocytes) appear to remove degenerated proteins
  • Multinucleated myocytes (GIANT CELLS/BUD)= sarcoplasm rebuilding the muscle fibers and indicate sign of regeneration.

*Discoid degeneration= necrotic are disintegrated into smaller or larger parts

Chronic demarcation:

  • blood vessle in the middle with hemorrhages all around and orange color is the angiofibroblast area of demarcation
  • hyperaemia (pulp) RBC
  • Granulation tissue (lymphocytes, plasma cells)
  • Fibrin
  • Hematoma= localized collection of blood outside the blood vessel
