Shows categories of data by frequencies
no relative numerical value
e.g. boys and girls

Q

What is ordinal data?

A

-where data can be placed into ascending/descending order
-intervals between data are not always equal
e.g. 1st, 2nd, 3rd in a race: ascending order but intervals between times may not be equal

Q

what is interval data?

A
  • equal numerical intervals between scored
    e.g. temperature
interval between 1&2 degrees is the same as between 21&22 degrees
