What is the definition of rights?
It is a legal rule about what a person is allowed to do or have.
What is the definition of morals?
The rules which decide which actions are right or wrong.
What is the definition of duties/responsibilities?
Something that a person is expected or required to do morally or legally.
What is the definition of freedoms?
The right to speak, act or think how you want.
What is the definition of equality?
Treating everyone the same.
When and what was the equal pay act?
1970, women and men must receive equal pay for equal work.
When and what was the sex discrimination act?
1975 & 1986, you could not be discriminated against at work due to their sex or marital status.
When and what was the equality act?
2006 & 2010, protects against discrimination on the basis of gender, sex or race.
When and what were the race relations acts?
1965, 1968, 1976, 2000, banned racial discrimination in public places.
When and what was the sex offences act?
1967, legalised homosexuality.
When and what was the gender recognition act?
2004, legally able to change gender.
When and what was the marriage (same sex couples act)?
2013, allowed same sex couples or those who had changed gender to legally become married.
